Get Giotto’s fashion week look

Giotto Calendoli loves hats, pizza and Naples. We love Giotto!

It’s fashion week season, and as always our gaze strays from the catwalk to the streets – where the true style magic happens. Whether he travels with equally stylish partner Patricia Manfield or alone, Giotto Calendoli is one of our favourite fixtures on the street style circuit. Calendoli, founder of lifestyle destination theatelier.me and designer of his own brand Grand Pa (he recently launched a capsule collection of hats – which he wears in this story), is a master of that laidback elegance Italians do so well. We caught up with Giotto during the Milan menswear fashion week, and asked him to style four fashion week worthy H&M looks.

WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE DESIGNER?
”I don’t have a specific favourite designer or brand, (besides my own brand Grand Pa – I’m joking!). But I really like Umit Benan and Louis Vuitton by Kim Jones.”

WHO IS YOUR STYLE ICON?
”My grandfather, for sure. I never met him, but I inherited all his clothes. He was a really cool man.”

WHAT IS YOUR SIGNATURE STYLE?
”My signature style changes all the time, but I would totally say a hat.”

WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE ON EARTH?
”My home city… Naples!”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD?
”I will never get tired of pizza!”

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO LOOK?
”Something simple – denims, boots, a hat and a white t-shirt… you can never go wrong with that look.”

WHY IS FASHION IMPORTANT?
”I think fashion is about individuality – fashion represents your aesthetics and your character, and that is important to me.”

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN HISTORY, WHAT FASHION ERA WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE IN?
”The 1930s, the era of my grandfather, an era of gentlemen.”

WHAT ITEM WOULD YOU NEVER PART FROM?
”My hats.”

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD?
”A soccer player :)”

WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET?
”David Beckham, so please let’s make it happen :)”

WHAT DO YOU NEED RIGHT NOW?
”An espresso.”

WHAT IS YOUR LATEST BEAUTY DISCOVERY?
”Morocco. It was my latest trip, and so inspirational.”
