When it comes to your mani, anything that saves time (and makes your nails prettier) is a must-do. We repurposed basic household supplies—aka the white stuff—for these not-so-basic hacks.
HEY OMBRE
White polish, a clean makeup sponge and scotch tape
make ombre stripes a snap. Use white polish to mix varying shades of
your favourite colour. Tape your nails into horizontal and vertical
stripes. With a clean makeup sponge, swoop though the three colours,
then swipe over your taped nails. Remove the tape once the polish is
dry and finish with a top coat.
GET GLUED
We all love the look of glitter polish, but can’t
stand how hard it is to get it off. Paint on white glue as a base coat
for your glitter. Removal couldn’t be easier: It peels right off!
CLEAN AND BRIGHT
Whitening toothpaste isn’t just for teeth.
With a nail – or toothbrush, scrub the paste into nails and brush
polish stains away. Rinse and repeat, if necessary, then treat your
bright, clean nails to hand lotion or cuticle cream.
