We caught up with Georgian fashion oracle and street style star Anka Tsitsishvili in Moscow. She styles her H&M favourites and talks about her relationship to fashion.
When looking for young fashion talent and avant-garde dressed folk, we learned long ago that not all roads lead to Paris, London, Milan and New York. When we instead point our eyes to the east, emerging young talent seems to swarm the region. One person whose style immediately drew our attention was Anka Tsitsishvili. She's the owner of the Moscow-based boutique INDEXflat that carries designs from Russia, Ukraine and – of course – Anka's native Georgia, and Vogue had called her the unofficial ambassador for Georgian fashion and describes her style as transcontinental. We can do nothing but agree.
Putting Tbilisi together with the words fashion and week may feel unaccustomed at first, but when you see the designs coming from the country and region as a whole – it's evident we've all been missing out.
When photographer Adam Katz Sinding went to Moscow, he met up with Anka who, for a change, was dressed in Swedish designs. Judging from Adam's snapshots, she definitely pulled that off as well.
