HOW TO ADD BOUNCE TO LIMP HAIR
Do you find yourself with limp, lifeless hair but dream of bouncy tresses with untold oomph? Read on for some step-by-step solutions and a few ingenious tips from those in the know.
WHAT HAVE YOU GOT?
Strong, healthy, shiny hair. And it’s soft.
SO WHAT’S THE PROBLEM?
It’s limp, probably veering on the fine side, but not to be confused with thin hair. I’ve got lots of hair, I just want more bounce!
HERE’S WHAT TO DO…
If you’re willing to take the plunge, try a shorter haircut. Less weight means more body. Even taking a few inches off will help (i.e. pixie cut optional!). Then you’ll want to shampoo daily with a volumising, thickening or body-building formula. Hair accumulates dirt, dust, oil and grime, too, and these nasties just weigh things down, which is obviously a no-no. Just make sure you rinse that shampoo out adequately. As for conditioner, yes you can! Simply concentrate through the mid-lengths and ends, avoiding those all-important roots. Towel-dry well and then get to work with a hairdryer. Here’s the crucial part: hang your head upside down and brush or comb forward, following behind with the hairdryer until dry. And unless it’s a root-lifting spray, avoid any product at the roots.
