Have you tried the latest techniques to put your best face forward?

Have you tried…

Whether you’re looking for an ultra-low-maintenance look or are willing to add a little time to your routine, get the scoop on the latest techniques to put your best face forward.

… non-touring
After a steady relationship with contouring and a brief fling with strobing, the beauty world has now moved on to non-touring. Think light, natural-looking and dewy with a touch of highlighting thrown in. The best news? It’s incredibly low-maintenance (you only need three products that you probably already have) and easy to do. Start with a moisturizing or illuminating primer, follow up with a tinted moisturizer or BB cream (no heavy foundations here!) and then apply a not-so-shimmery highlighter above your cheekbones, under the brow bone, down the bridge of your nose and on the cupid’s bow. That’s it!

… baking
On the other end of the maintenance spectrum is baking or cooking, an old school technique that’s made a comeback. Baking uses loose powder and the heat from your face to set your foundation and concealer – plus highlight the face – all in one go. After applying foundation and concealer, use a damp makeup sponge to pat a thick coat of powder on areas that you want to look brighter. Try underneath your eye, along the top of your jawbone, and down the center of your nose. After letting the powder sit for five to ten minutes, dust it away with a fluffy brush. Step back and admire that creaseless, flawless finish.

… multi-color correcting
At some point in life, we’ve learned about how color-correcting can neutralize certain skin imperfections – green covers redness, peach/orange counteracts blue-ish under-eye circles, pale pink brightens, yellow works against purple (as in bruises) and lavender lifts sallowness. But nowadays, it’s about using color correction all at the same time in targeted zones to create the perfect base. Just remember: always apply color corrector before foundation and concealing. You’ll also find that you’ll need less foundation and concealer overall, so go with a lighter touch than usual and build if necessary.
