10 EPIC DAYS OF OUR LIVES STYLE MOMENTS

As the weirdest and most imaginative show that has ever been broadcasted on television celebrates its 50 years anniversary, we count down ten of the most epic fashion moments of DOOL.

10. WHEN ”DOC” WAS POSSESSED BY THE DEVIL…
… and wore this perfect, loose-fitted white silk pyjamas (season 30). John Black had to perform an emergency exorcism on “Mardevil” to save her soul – we hope he saved the pyjamas too! Honestly, we would not be ashamed to wear this outfit to fashion week. Just add heels and a clutch, really.

9. WHEN THESE TWO RETURNED FROM TAHITI
You know when you go on holiday and get a new outfit from the local market? And then try to pull it off back home? Never a good idea. Didn’t stop Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes – who played super couple Doug and Julie Williams on DOOL – from trying.

8. WHEN VICTOR KIRIAKIS HAD THE SAME LOOK FOR 30 YEARS
For almost three decades, John Aniston as Victor Kiriakis has seen most characters – and grooming trends – come and go. His moustache has remained the same. But then again, why change a winning concept.

7. WHEN JOHN BLACK GOT HIS PREGNANT BRIDE
If you follow fashion, you probably already know that the late 80's/early 90's are a major catwalk inspiration right now. And minus that hideous vail, Isabella Toscano’s look when she wed John Black was a legit 80's dream. Unfortunately, the marriage was short-lived. Don’t blame the dress though – Isabella died of pancreatic cancer later that year.

6. WHEN HOPE WAS PRINCESS GINA
Kristian Alfonso played three characters on DOOL: Hope Brady, art thief and forger Princess Gina and then Hope Brady AS Princess Gina while she was brainwashed by super villain Stefano di Mera to believe she was Princess Gina...This genius plot called for a lot of spectacular (often tacky) costume changes.

5. WHEN THEY CHALLENGED GENDER CONVENTIONS (SORT OF…)
Remember Stan? He was Sami Brady’s male alter ego, created when actress Alison Sweeney went on maternity leave. Alison Sweeney put on a fake moustache and suddenly transformed into… actor Dan Wells. Confusing? Not as confused as the wedding guests were when they expected to see Hope tying the knot with Larry Welch, only to find out that Hope had been replaced by Howie Hofstedder.

4. WHEN STEFANO DI MERA WORE A SATIN COAT
What would Days Of Our Lives be without evil mastermind Stefano Di Mera? Stefano usually dressed in dark suits and shiny ties, not really fit for one of television’s greatest villains. So imagined our delight when he put on this statement look in season 19, looking devilishly handsome.

3. WHEN THIS ‘BOYBAND’ POSED ON A GRASS LAWN…
… and proved why the “blue jeans and a white shirt” is such an iconic look. The hunks ofDOOL – Austin Reed, Eric Brady, Bo Brady and Dr Mike Horton –accessorised it with water sprinklers and weird poses, as one should. But please button your shirt, Bo Brady.

2. WHEN LISA RINNA WAS A 90'S BABE
The character Billie Reed was portrayed by three different actresses, but it’s Lisa Rinna’s three Billie stints we remember the most. If you’re still hooked on the 90's trend (we are!) Billie Reed á la season 28 is the perfect style inspiration. Mini dresses, gold hoop earrings and perfect, over sized leather jackets.

1. WHEN BO AND CARLY HAD A FOLKLORE THEMED WEDDING
DOOL has seen a lot of weddings, and this one is our favourite. Bo Brady and Carly Manning Kiriakis had a symbolic Mayan wedding ceremony in Mexico (no further questions please, it also involved an earthquake, Victor Kiriakis faking his own death and some kind of Stefano di Mera super scheme) – looking like a vintage Vogue spread.
