NADIA SARWAR

Blogger and photographer Nadia “Froufrouu” Sarwar feels lost without her camera, loves steak, chocolate and hats. We love her style!

Nadia Sarwar describes her style as an imaginary mix of a Tokyo boy dressed in Comme des Garçons, Japanese fictional character Vampire Hunter D and Rayenne from the 90’s series My So Called Life. It’s actually a pretty accurate description.

The blogger and photographer behind Froufrouu and her unique way of dressing is a constant inspiration. Click through the slideshow to see why!

WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE DESIGNER?
”I’m always changing my mind, but I think Christophe Lemaire, The Row and Yohji Yamamoto produce classics pieces that I can always revisit.”

WHAT IS YOUR SIGNATURE STYLE?
”Comfort is key for me. For the most part I’m in flats and a hat – whatever comes in between the two is largely influenced by menswear and/or vintage pieces.”

WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE ON EARTH?
”Positano, Italy. And home, whether it’s New York or Staffordshire.”

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO LOOK?
”Rolled-up, loose-fitting men’s trousers, a long t-shirt or shirt, a cropped sweater and a wide brimmed or tall hat.”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD?
”Steak and chocolate. I wouldn’t even be averse to mixing the two.”

IF YOU HAD TO LEAVE YOUR APARTMENT IN A HURRY, WHAT WOULD YOU GRAB?
”A camera, it doesn’t matter which, I feel a little lost without one.”

WHY IS FASHION IMPORTANT?
”To me, style is more important that fashion, it’s the way people tell their own story.”

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN HISTORY, WHAT FASHION ERA WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE IN?
”If a hybrid between the 70s and 90s existed, I’d want to be there.”

WHAT ITEM WOULD YOU NEVER PART FROM?
”I find it very difficult to let go of my clothes because I make fairly calculated choices when making purchases and I’m a little sentimental. That being said, a friend gave me his hat when he cut his hair and it’d be pretty difficult for me to part ways with that.”

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD?
”An artist.”

WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY FASHION PLEASURE?
”Air force ones with every outfit.”

WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET?
”Christopher Walken, Jeff Goldblum, and Yohji Yamamoto, because I want to take their picture.”
