6. BO DEREK IN 10

5. RIHANNA
Nobody looks more at home on the beach than Rihanna, and a simple yellow two-piece shows off her strong style. Natural wavy hair and an arm of delicate bracelets tick the right boxes for a charming, fashionable swimwear look.

4. SEAN CONNERY IN GOLDFINGER
Sean Connery as James Bond can pull off any look. Proof, if you needed it, was in 1964’s Goldfinger, when his choice of cover-up – a baby blue terrycloth playsuit, inspired by Victorian men’s beachwear – raised a few eyebrows among discerning viewers.

3. ELVIS IN BLUE HAWAII

2. PAMELA ANDERSON IN BAYWATCH
It’s the big swimwear moment of the 1990s – Pamela Anderson’s scarlet one-piece on the set of Baywatch. The skimpy suit, with its high-cut legs, may not have been the obvious choice for a lifeguard, but as CJ Parker, Pamela made the legendary look her own.

1. URSULA ANDRESS IN DR NO
The Swiss bombshell made the entrance of her life in Dr No, when the Bond girl sashayed out of the water onto a Jamaican beach in that iconic off-white two-piece, accompanied by her trusty conch-hunting knife.
