HOW TO GET PLUMPER LIPS
There’s no sense in bemoaning what fate (and genetics) has bestowed upon us when we have makeup on our side! Especially when we’ve got three simple hacks to get beautiful, plump lips.
Cinnamon sure has some superpowers – it’s a great exfoliator for your lips, but it also gets the circulation going since the aromatic spice mildly irritates the lips, causing them to swell temporarily (in a good way, trust us). Blend two tablespoons of coconut oil, a tablespoon of sugar and two drops of cinnamon essential oil (or a tablespoon of ground cinnamon), then scrub and wash away. Follow up with your favourite lip product.
OVER-LINE LIPS – BUT ONLY JUST
Lining your lips outside the perimeter of your lips is a common trick, but you really want to avoid lining the entire mouth since it can verge on looking fake. Instead, if you want to over-line for extra fullness, use a nude lip pencil to build colour right outside your natural lip line in the centre of the bottom lip and on either side of the Cupid's bow. Apply nude lipstick and presto – plumper lips.
Using two lipstick colours is kind of like contouring for your lips. First, colour in the middle of your bottom lip with a lighter colour (you can also use a white eyeliner here), then use a lip brush to apply the other colour you’re using on the rest of the mouth and blend well. For an extra-big pout, dot a bit of shimmer or gloss to the middle of your bottom lip, too.
