New Season Beauty Essentials

A new season, a new school year and all the new fashion weeks are happening this month, which means busy times! Get into the flow with long-wearing, multi-tasking and glow-getting products.

If you plan to be out and about all day – and let’s face it, well into evening – long-wear foundation is a no-brainer. A liquid formula is comfortable for every skin type, plus easy to blend and build up, if necessary. And the proverbial icing on the cake? SPF 15. Because it’s never too early or too late to start with sun protection.

QUICK TIP: For a more natural finish, apply with your fingers, but if you’re after a more air-brushed look, opt for a foundation brush. Just remember to clean the brush daily to avoid bacteria!

Defined eyebrows frame the face and can balance your features, and if you only have five minutes to spare (oh, that sneaky snooze button!), are the fastest way to a pulled-together look. Always start with sharp tip and fill in the areas where your brows are sparse. Step back and marvel at the difference!

QUICK TIP: Use short, feathery strokes to mimic your eyebrow hairs, concentrating at the arch, and blend with the spoolie side of the pencil.

When you’re travelling – whether it’s abroad or throughout the day – a palette means more products in one space-saving case. These shimmering and autumn-worthy metallic hues can be worn alone to stunning effect or combined for a more elaborate look. Try the gold all over, concentrate the aubergine close to the lash line and use the peach and silver as accents.

QUICK TIP: For more intense colours, use an eyeshadow primer over the whole lid and apply the shadow with a damp brush.

Life is too short to use mundane body wash. Whether you’re just starting the day or washing off the remnants of a hard day, gently cleanse and refresh your skin with this creamy formula and envelop yourself in a lush fragrance. For that extra squeaky clean feeling, use a loofah in the shower. For some precious me-time, run it under the bath.

QUICK TIP: Make sure to layer the matching body lotion directly after stepping out of the shower or bath to lock in the moisture and prolong that clean jasmine and sandalwood scent.

Another space and time-saving product for sure, but a slightly dewy, monochromatic face is also terribly chic, versatile and oh-so easy to achieve. Press the creamy yet sheer colour onto cheeks and blend out, towards the hairline, and then press onto bare lips for a stain or over matching lip liner for more intensity.

QUICK TIP: Apply to soft and hydrated cheeks and/or lips for best results. It’ll literally melt into the skin and last a lot longer!

Oil gets a bad rep in beauty, but it’s amazingly nourishing. So how about an all-purpose hydrating oil for bath, body and hair that’s organically certified? Yes, please! Made with jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, rosemary extract and sunflower oil, pour into the bath for a luxurious soak, smooth over the body or apply to frizzy hair to instantly tame.

QUICK TIP: Rub a few drops between your fingers and work through the ends of your hair for separation that screams messy French-girl hair. In a good way, of course.

When you just want subtle strobing, this clear, creamy face gloss is the answer. The lightweight formula provides just enough sheen on bare skin or on top of foundation to brighten and highlight all the points you want to draw attention to – along the top of the cheekbones and the inner corner of the eyes.

QUICK TIP: To achieve an all-over glow, mix some of the gloss with your favourite foundation or tinted moisturiser and apply as usual.
