H&M’s new LINE stickers have arrived
Meet the designer and find out how to get the stickers – both online and in real life.
Daichi Miura is a fashion and art director, designer, producer and illustrator. This month, he has teamed up with H&M to create a range of new stickers for the brand’s LINE account. The sixteen exclusive stickers – portraying the fashion loving character Josie’s Runway – are available now to everyone who is, or chooses to become, friends with H&M on the social media platform. You just need to download them from the LINE sticker shop!
The new stickers don’t only exist in cyber space. If you sign up for Fashion News – H&M’s weekly newsletter – you can compete to win a limited edition tote bag featuring all the stickers.
H&M Magazine reached the designer behind the stickers, Diachi Miura, for a Q&A.
CAN YOU TALK US THROUGH YOUR PROCESS? HOW DO YOU BEGIN? DO YOU SKETCH IN PENCIL?
“I don't do the rough sketches. I just imagine the life of girls or interesting situations and then I reflect these in my illustrations. Sometimes I play around randomly and suddenly the idea turns into the designs.”
WHAT QUALITIES DOES A SUCCESSFUL STICKER NEED TO HAVE?
“Something a little bit funny is needed!”
WHICH STICKER IS YOUR PERSONAL FAVOURITE?
“My personal favourite is the one with the girl who’s laying facedown. I found it funny since she is in a dress but she is tired and ….this gap is funny.”
IN YOUR OPINION, WHY DO YOU THINK WE LOVE COMMUNICATING WITH STICKERS AND EMOJIS?
”Stickers can describe anything what we can’t describe with words and they can make the receivers happy as well. Sometime we can find what kind of personality the senders have through stickers. It is always nice to deliver our feeling with stickers.”
The competition is open until 31 December 2016 and the stickers are available to download until 9 January 2017.
