Your Guide to All-Natural Masking

Your Guide to All-Natural Masking

Take the conscious path to radiant skin in four simple steps.

Masking is the fast and foolproof way to erase every sign of winter dullness and get that spring-fresh glow going.

Now, you don’t have to follow any 12-step routines to mask, and it definitely doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. Think of it as a complement to your everyday skin-care regime that supercharges your complexion, making the skin look smooth, supple and hydrated.

The route to fresh-faced radiance begins by removing makeup and carefully cleansing the face and neck. No cheating! If you like, you can also add a mild peel to get rid of dead skin cells and prepare the skin for masking before gently patting it dry with an organic cotton washcloth.

If you want to get the most out of your face mask, continue by steaming the skin to open up the pores by taking a hot shower or placing a hot towel over your face for a few seconds. Be careful, or skip this step altogether, if you have a sensitive or rosacea-prone complexion.

Choose a face mask for your specific needs, or multi-mask by applying different masks to different areas of your face to get all skin concerns covered at once. Take your time to massage the mask into your face and neck with clean hands, avoiding the delicate lip and eye area, or use a Face Mask Spatula for mess-free, hygienic application (a multi-masking must). Leave the mask on for 2–10 minutes, set an alarm, and gently rinse with warm water. Pat the skin dry.

End your ritual by moisturizing to seal in all that lovely nourishment — perhaps using the rich and hydrating All Over Balm from the Conscious range — while giving the skin a gentle massage to promote absorption and blood circulation. Repeat the masking once or twice a week for long-lasting results and a deep, healthy g-l-o-w.

The H&M Conscious beauty range includes three skin-boosting face masks — the Charcoal Face Mask, Kaolin Clay Face Mask and Green Tea Face Mask — made with natural and organic ingredients certified by Ecocert Greenlife according to Ecocert Standard, making them extra kind to people and the planet.

Mirroring the pared-back inside, which is packed with potent nature-derived ingredients like red kaolin clay, shea butter, charcoal, beeswax and aloe vera, the Conscious masks not only do good, but guarantee great Insta selfies due to their clean, minimalist design. Only, your followers won’t be able to enjoy the fresh citrus and floral scent created by a blend of plant-based essential oils (the all-natural alternative to synthetic fragrances).
