Danish blogger and style director Funda Christophersen is a true expert at looking chic in cold weather – inspiration we very much need right now!
Looking effortlessly chic is not as easy as it sounds. It actually takes a lot of effort. Or talent. In Funda Christophersen’s case, it’s probably the latter. The co-founder and style director of online mag Luelle is a master at making neutral shades, wardrobe staples and minimalistic outerwear look interesting. A true Everyday Icon! Shot by Adam Katz Sinding in Copenhagen, Funda chose and styled her season favourites from H&M.
WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE DESIGNER?
“Phoebe Philo is absolutely one of my favourite designers. Her collections for Céline are a big inspiration for my everyday wardrobe. Also I really like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s creative and minimalistic work with The Row.”
WHO IS YOUR STYLE ICON?
“I’m very inspired by iconic women like Jane Birkin and Charlotte Rampling.”
WHAT IS YOUR SIGNATURE STYLE?
“My style is very comfortable, simple and minimalistic. I prefer wearing neutral shades and mix them with golden jewellery pieces. I’ve always had a very feminine look by nature and that’s why I try to stay away from too bohemian and feminine pieces.”
WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE ON EARTH?
“Los Angeles is one my favourite places on earth, driving down Sunset Boulevard in a cabriolet with the sun in my face and palm trees everywhere is indescribable. Also Paris, after living there back in 2012 it feels like my second home.”
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD?
“I really like Mexican food – especially anything with avocado in it.”
IF YOU HAD TO LEAVE YOUR APARTMENT IN A HURRY, WHAT WOULD YOU GRAB?
“My two fluffy Birman cats.”
WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO LOOK?
“A cosy sweater, loose-fit pants or flared jeans with a pair of sneakers.”
WHY IS FASHION IMPORTANT?
“This is how we express ourselves and our creativity.”
IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN HISTORY, WHAT FASHION ERA WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE IN?
“Definitely the 70s!”
WHAT ITEM WOULD YOU NEVER PART FROM?
“My Cartier Trinity ring – a timeless piece of jewellery symbolizing some of the most important people of my life, past and present.”
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD?
“I somehow always knew that I wanted to work in fashion. When I was a child I loved to draw outfits and re-design vintage clothes.
WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY FASHION PLEASURE?
“Living in cold Scandinavia means always wearing layers of clothes, and even during summertime you might need a sweater for the cold evenings. So, sweaters – I have maybe over 30 knitted sweaters in my wardrobe.”
WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET?
“Diane Keaton or Johnny Depp.”
WHAT DO YOU NEED RIGHT NOW?
“A perfect everyday bag from Céline.”
WHAT IS YOUR LATEST BEAUTY DISCOVERY?
“Beauté Pacifique’s cleansing foam is amazing to use every morning and evening – it refreshes the skin immediately and leaves it soft and clean.”
