Justine Skye X H&M – born in Brooklyn
Step into multi-talent Justine Skye’s creative world! Together with H&M, the singer, songwriter and actress presents her first-ever fashion collection.
What’s better than looking stylish while feeling comfortable? That’s right, nothing beats it. So get ready and get in line for Justine Skye’s collab with H&M, a collection inspired by streetwear and activewear, reimagined into on-trend fashion pieces. The collection launches November 22 on hm.com and in select New York City stores, and offers key pieces like a cloud motif body suit and dress, a jacket set complete with a matching bag, and a grey sweat suit with a ‘1995’ motif that of course signifies Justine Skye’s birth year – her personal favourite from the collection, she tells H&M Magazine.
”I spent a lot of time making sure that we created a great shape for the sweats so that it all felt right. I love sweats, so it was important to me to create my own pair.”
YOU WERE BORN AND RAISED IN BROOKLYN. HOW HAS BROOKLYN INFLUENCED YOUR FASHION?
”Brooklyn is home for me, so I always like to be as comfortable and as cosy as possible. Being born in Brooklyn has given me so much confidence to express myself through fashion and since I’m always on the run and away from home, dressing comfy keeps BK close to my heart.”
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
”My style is pretty emotion driven. It’s still evolving so I don’t like to limit it and put too much of a crazy description on it.”
WHO IS YOUR STYLE ICON?
”I wouldn’t say I have a style icon, but I definitely can say I’m inspired by my friends mostly. They’re style icons in the making to me.”
HOW DO YOU PICK OUT AN OUTFIT FOR A BIG PERFORMANCE?
”I normally pick the outfit with the best silhouette and movement. That’s extremely important when on stage. I always try to go for pants and boots – when I’m the most comfortable in my clothing I give the best performance.”
