It has a zip which cannot be fully opened, the end is sticked together, so less convenient as I expect it to be able to separate completely. But I can use it by adjusting the fabric to expose the whole face. It is soft and warm to cover the head and neck together. I still like it as alpaca is famous to keep you warm when it is cold and make you cool when it is hot. Prevent you from sweating.
