Belted shirt dress

My measurements match up perfectly to size medium but anything labelled "loose-fit" at H&M, I have to go down a size. The construction of this garment is questionable. I sew myself and in order for the collar to sit properly at my neck, I had to add another button at the top, so it would shape around my bust and the collar would slide forward. The details on this garment are questionable as well. Why would you have a natural wood coloured belt with dark brown plastic buttons? I went to my local fabric store and switched out the buttons for a matching wood buttons. What a difference that made. As for the length, I am shorter then the average person, so the length was too long for my body type. I ended up shortening it to just below my knee. I just wish, one time, I could buy something from H&M that was made, and designed, properly that I don't have to alter it.

I love that it is light cotton and not sheer. I am tall and solid so is fits me nicely, actually quite flattering and feminine. The belt is stretchy so it is comfortable at the waist. The pattern is lovely and not too busy. The collar needs a good press and the buttons are dark plastic and would be worth replacing if you are handy that way. All in all, very pleased and I will enjoy wearing it this summer.

I'm in love with this dress and wear it on repeat. Good fabric weight, wasn't sure about the cut from the waist to the armhole at first but my husband said it looked good and he doesn't usually comment!!! It's washed well. Size 14 and the Medium was a a nice loose fit, if you're a 12 maybe try a Small.

Beautiful design to the dress and looked lovely quality when received. I have worn it once and had lots of compliments about the design and print. After the fist wash the material lost all its life and when ironed creases came back straight away. Very disappointed.

Fit and cut are v flattering. Not sure about the belt will probably change for my own. Fabric is a little thicker than I was expecting but means the dress hangs nicely. I'm not short but this is a fraction on the long side, not a bad thing.

I love this dress! It fits true to size, is very flattering and comfortable and the material is lovely. It seems so difficult to find cotton dresses these days and this will be a welcome addition to my wardrobe on those hot summer days.

Pretty dress but unfortunately the medium was too small, especially in the bust area on me. Would have needed a large possibility extra large for it to fit as it does on the model. Material not as nice as hoped its was stiff.

Excellent fit with darts under the bust a little stretch - perfect for extra give and no gaping around over-chest buttons. I'm short 5'1 and this length still hits above the ankle. nice feel to the material. A new favourite.

Just delivered! What a stunning, quality dress for such a low price! Eye catching colour, great shape and lovely material. This is such a great addition for summer- style casual or more dressy with heels. Highly recommend!

This will be perfect for hot days because it's very roomy and hangs away from the body. The pleats are nicely done and the fabric is nice too. Could have used pockets and at least one more button to cover the chest.
