How H&M helps communities affected by Covid-19

Production of protective gear for hospitals, relief for affected communities around the US, and a way for customers to contribute to the effort.

With large parts of the world in lockdown and a pandemic that demands all of us to make massive changes, H&M is using its vast resources to help slow the spread of the virus and protect health care workers and vulnerable groups in an array of ways.

For H&M, one significant change is the shift our supply-chain is undergoing. Since March 22,  instead of clothing, many suppliers are now manufacturing large quantities of personal protective gear that we donate to hospitals and health care workers around the world.

In the USA, H&M is taking additional actions regionally. For starters, a donation of over 70,000 pieces of H&M product (bedding, sheets, adult and children’s clothes) will go to organizations like Children’s Defense Fund, The Los Angeles LGBT Center, GLAM4GOOD, and the Nashville Rescue Mission. Aside from this donation, H&M USA is also partnering with Givz so that for every $60 spent on hm.com, $10 will be donated to charities providing support and relief to those on the front line of the pandemic.

We’d also like to share that the non-profit H&M Foundation has donated $500,000 to the World Health Organization to help prevent the spread of this pandemic.
