At most stores I am a small-medium in bottoms (size 6) but the medium in this was very big in the waist. There is no way too belt it tighter so unfortunately I have to return them. I think even a size down would probably be too wide. The material otherwise seemed nice for the beach. I'm 5'3 and these were a few inches long so would probably fit true length wise for average height.

Really cute for the beach as a cover up. I got a size larger for more of an oversized, flowy look.
