This is a good news/bad news H and M item. TL;DR Great fabric and construction but runs LARGE and fit needs to be much better. First the good news: LINEN. Retailers are LISTENING, I think many of us have made it known we have had it with all the polyester. So in that respect I am happy I made the purchase because if we don't buy it, they won't make it. This is a good weight of linen that will work in the summer. While I have seen a lot of linen being used manufacturing wise, I find a lot of it is incredibly heavy. They nailed this one. The construction is pretty good as well. Seams line up, front placket for buttons is done well, no loose threads anywhere, inside finished nicely. Now the bad news. I am all for oversize clothes, but this thing is massive. I wear a large top but usually XL for things that go past my hips, such as this shirt I took advice from other reviews and sized down and got the Medium and I was still SWIMMING in it. So definitely size down. While I noticed other people said it runs large in length, I don't really think so. its supposed to be long and hit mid thigh (which I like). so if you're looking for a shorter shirt, this is not it. On the note of oversize, I do think the design/fit should be better, specifically on the shoulders. This has a dropped shoulder and the overall fit giving a mens wide shirt....honestly it kinda looks a little sloppy versus cool/relaxed fit even when styles with trousers/hair/jewelry. so that is disappointing. I bought this online and didn’t feel like dealing with returns so I legit took the sleeves off and brought in the shoulders in and reattached them and it looks LOVELY. I really wish they had been a bit more attentive to the fit cause it makes SUCH a difference for what could have been a really beautiful shirt.
