H&M sizes are all over the place. There's no consistency across jeans of similar kind even. thanks to the comments posted, I opted for size 36 (waist b/w 31-32 measured around the navel) instead of size 34. BUT EVEN 36 is a bit tight, making it a bit uncomfortable to breathe and walk and sit with legs crossed effortlessly. Clothes esp bottomwear shouldn't remind you constantly that you need to take something off in order to be at ease. Thinking of returning it for size 38.
