It's definitely a cropped sweater, which I like! I'm usually a large and the large was too big, so it also is a loose fit. It's nice and warm because of the wool, but there isnt too much wool because im not itchy. So overall its a perfect sweater for a short person, texture sensitive person... only bad thing is one of them came with a loose stitch on the sleeve, so have to return the one that fit :( buy two and hope one comes without the loose stitch
