Hawaii Keisuke x H&M challenges what it means to be a menswear designer. The collection tells a story as punk artist Ryan Hawaii and contemporary artist Shane Berkery come together to create their own world through collaboration.
Comedian, broadcaster, leading digital creator and H&M brand ambassador Munya Chawawa fronts the brand new collection and enjoyed his time spent with the designers, "Ryan and Shane have absolutely nailed this range and it's been a pleasure to work with them. For them, I'm sure it's been equally enjoyable working with Zimbabwe's number one, 5ft 7 model."
"The world I create is the world I want to exist in" - Ryan Hawaii
The collection showcases printed seams, felt patches & paint textures. The reconstruction symbolises the mixed heritage that drives culture in contemporary Ireland and Britain, giving masculinity fresh connotations.
Ryan Hawaii creates art, music and clothing inspired by Basquiat and afrocentrism. Inspired by his Japanese heritage, Shane Berkery creates visual stories ‘bridging the gap between then and now.’
