The (dark brown) lamp although metal has a convincing wood grain effect. Adequately weighted and sturdy with a soft padding on the base to protect surfaces. I paired it with the light brown linen-blend lampshade (pleated) which works well as a bedside lamp. Good finish quality and looks like it's built to last.
