I ordered the size M for our tall & thin teen son. I'm going to keep them though the fit and some details are not great, because it is so baffling difficult to find zipper pockets on men's summer weight joggers. The waistband on sz M is too wide/big, but at least the waist is quickly adjustable with the toggle lock on the cord which is a big plus. Thighs are too roomy and I'm worried they'll look like harem style pants on him. Unless men have muscular thighs I think most folks won't like that cut. The zipper pockets at the hips are too shallow! I'm not sure his iPhone will fit them, or if they do, phone and wallet can fall out easily. For our needs they'll probably be fine at summer camp.
